My database consists of over 5000 resumes. I generally delete most at the end of each year if they are four years or older. Many candidates generally send me updated resumes from time to time and I will store them in my database if I cannot help them at that moment. It amazes me the number of times I have caught candidates sending me resumes which are different than the ones they sent four years ago. Some people have a tendency to conveniently remove a particular job and squeeze dates together to make the background look cleaner. Or they will load the resume up with junk to try and distract me from the overall message. Or they will send a resume indicating that they are currently employed when they have been unemployed for eight months. Let me offer this advice – don’t misrepresent your background.
