There are some great achievements you can (and should) put on a resume. Here are a few that are not so great, and show up all too often on resumes:

“That’s great. How many have you mentored this past year?”
“Eight.”
“Wow, why so many?”
“Everybody keeps quitting”
Chosen by RSM to Give Presentation at National Sales Meeting
That’s because everyone else said no, and he said, “You’ll do it – Or else.”
Awarded Breakfast with the Company CEO
“She had a Spinach Florentine Omelet. I had Cap’n Crunch.”
“And I paid for both.”
Member of the President’s Advisory Council
Along with the other 240 employees who put the same thing on their resume
Member of Region of the Year
Even though I finished dead last in the Regional Sales Force Rankings and am still working my way out of probation.
